For all the business owners, I will give you the heart of Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and all other social media sites. This algorithm pumps its blood to all the sites like their website crawlers.

From different search engines to different social media, everyone is trying to identify the structure in which web 2.0 works. Link Analysis algorithm runs through the veins of web 2.0. Google, Yahoo and Bing uses this algorithm for Page Ranking, social media sites for news feed, friend’s suggestion, job suggestions and YouTube for videos.

I would explain the Page ranking method and how it uses Link Analysis algorithm with an example:

Website B is having a backlink from website A. It means that website A has given website B a reference. Similarly, website C is having backlinks from website D, website E and website F.

Here as you can see that website B is high authority site. It has many backlinks from many websites like D, E, F, 1, 2, 3.

As website A is providing backlink to website B the search engine identifies that even website B is of high authority site. Even though website C has more number of backlinks than website B, it is ranked less than website B.

Reason is Website B is having a backlink from a website A that is an important page hence its high value.

But it also depends on the relevancy of the backlink. Suppose if your website is selling cars it is related to automobile industry. It would be more appropriate if your website is having a backlink from a high authority automobile related website.

The search engine results page (SERP) rank is the actual result returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query.

So, what is SERP?

The SERP consists of a list of links to web pages with associated text snippets. The SERP rank of a web page refers to the placement of the corresponding link on the SERP, where higher placement means higher SERP rank.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) influences SERP rank for a website or set of webpages based on the search query. Here comes the concept of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Positioning of a webpage on a SERP for a keyword depends on the relevancy of the webpage to that keyword and again comes the concept of link building analysis, where that webpage has high authority backlink.
